The Legacy Weekly
is back! Fear not! After an absence of 3 weeks we're here to stay. Why were we gone?
LordofAscension wrote:
This first update was a major upheaval of our backend, as well as a transfer to a dedicated hosting server. The result? We'll no longer be plagued by technical difficulties or downtimes. Unfortunately, terrible events occurred during the transfer, causing a loss in all User information. Luckily, major content was untouched. Sadly, news, replies, polls, and users were deleted.

Don't believe his lies! The real reason is a revolution started by MasterBoo and Dauntless as they tried to dethrone LoA! (don't fire us please *whine*).

As we said in our comeback announcement, in the comings weeks you'll see lots of great stuff on the StarCraft Legacy: New design and features, articles, interviews, the return of the Archive and of course that World Wide StarCraft II Exclusive *wink*. Some of these features are already in such as the Blizzard Official Fansite Database.

For any suggestions, ideas, or as usual - a "w00t" (sorry Karune), send us a mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. Enjoy the new Weekly layout and news for everything that was StarCraft since September 13th.

During our absence Karune has released 2 new Q&A batches. Here are highlights taken from both of them:
Karune wrote:

Are the Ultralisk making a return in SC2? (starcraft2forum.org)
The Ultralisk figures heavily in our current plans, but as with everything else relating to units and balance, this is subject to change.

Will there be in game voice chat supported in SC2? (teamliquid.net)
Yes, there are plans to implement voice chat into Battle.net, but details beyond that are yet to be announced.

Will we be seeing any hybrid units in StarCraft II? (starcraft.org)
We are planning to explore the mysteries surrounding the Xel'naga for the single player campaign. In the campaign you will encounter several unique units that would not otherwise be seen in multiplayer. At this time, you'll just have to wait and see.

Will there be Vespene Gas deposits that yield better rates, the same as yellow crystals? (starcrafttwo.com)
It is very likely that there will be higher yield Vespene Gas deposits, though we are being very careful in balancing this, since gas collection is based on a more linear rate of collection (3 collectors) versus mineral collection.

Could the Colossus be transported by the Phase Prism, since the Prism's crystal can turn any matter into energy? (mymym.com)
Yes, the new Phase Prism now transports by changing the unit they wish to transport into energy, which is stored in the Phase Prism for transport. This allows the Phase Prism to be able to transport even gigantic units such as the Colossus.

ultra.jpg

Karune also mentioned that StarCraft II team is trying out what it would be like to have the Ghost as a Tier 1.5 unit without stealth, keeping the stealth ability as an upgrade at a later Tier.

Batch 13 - Full Thread | Batch 14 - Full Thread

This week Karune posted the 15th batch. While not as interesting as the previous ones, it deserves a "w00t"! Again, here are the highlights from the batch:
Karune wrote:

Can an upgraded command center be salvaged? Does it lose its mobility when upgraded to a surveillance station?
No, the command center cannot be salvaged, nor can it lift off after it is upgraded to a Surveillance Station (allows the use of the Comsat ability).

Will "caster" units, such as the Protoss High Templar, have a regular attack, like Tassadar had in SC1, or will they only be able to attack through their spells? (blizzplanet.com)
Currently, there are no plans to give the High Templar a physical attack, though High Templar Story Characters will have additional abilities beyond that of the standard unit. At the moment, the High Templar is one of best support units in the game, with the ability to cast a devastating Psi Storm or choke off crucial areas of the map with the force field ability. Once you've used up its energy, no worries, convert it into an Archon with another Templar.

Can Marines be Stimmed while in a bunker? What about a Ghosts snipe ability?
In the current build, abilities cannot be activated while inside a bunker, but you can activate abilities before entering a bunker. For example, if you activate Stim Pack on a few Marines, then enter a bunker, they will attack at the higher rate of fire from inside the bunker. The Stim Pack effects will still wear off as normal though.

[...Karune continued later...]

Two of the reasons we don't currently allow special abilities in bunkers is that it would make the interface quite messy and it would be overpowered for certain abilities.

As far as interface, players would have to be able to access all special abilities from the bunker user interface, which could mean the possibility of many, many abilities (for instance if you had a Medic, Marine, Ghost, and Firebat in the bunker).

The Bunker would also be overpowered for units like the Medic (would it be able to heal while in the Bunker? which would be OP) or the Ghost (sniping, launching nukes, and drop pods, from inside the Bunker).

Batch 15 - Full Thread

Karune also added this week that the current build of StarCraft II no longer has the Terran Starbase (the upgrade to the Starport). When asked why, he replied:
Karune wrote:
During much testing, the Developers realized that the Starports ability to transform into a Starbase was not very essential in the gameplay of the Terrans and was also leaving several tech lab add ons scattered across the map. At the moment, the Starports ability to transform into a Starbase has been taken out of the game, thus to produce advanced units, the Starport will need the appropriate tech lab add-on, similar to the original StarCraft.

Two weeks ago Karune tried to tease the community with next post:
Karune wrote:
So what do you get when you cross a Zerg with a...

Mayhem and chaos spread through the Battle.net forums, as fans thought this is a clue for an upcoming Zerg update. Few hours later, Karune replied he was just playing with our minds... Gah.

We expand our "Blizzard Talk" section this issue with some interviews: And for last, Blizzard has recently opened a StarCraft II forum for the World of Warcraft community. Interfering StarCraft matters with WoW! BLASPHEMY!

headersc2.jpg
There's been a new unit update on StarCraft2.com for each of our weeklies, and this is one is no exception.

The Battlecruiser is reporting in. Here's a quick excerpt from it's story:
Quote:

These massive, heavily armored combat ships are virtual flying fortresses, built to keep the peace and dominate the space lanes of the Koprulu sector. Outfitted with bristling laser batteries and thick neosteel armor, these imposing vessels are among the most powerful to be found in Terran space. Many commanders use Battlecruisers as their command vessels during extended campaigns. There are several examples of vessels specifically refitted for this purpose, such as General Duke’s Norad II and Norad III, as well as the Battlecruiser Hyperion commanded by Jim Raynor.

We know this is old news for most of you, but we had to mention it anyway.
The Terran Gameplay video that was shown in BlizzCon is available to download from StarCraft II website. It's in HD-quality and narrated by Dustin Browder. Enjoy if you haven't already! :)

While not exactly StarCraft II news, it deserves a spot here. Blizzard launched this week a new Support site for all of their games. They explained this best themselves:Quote:
We are happy to announce the unveiling of the new Blizzard Support site! This site is designed to assist you with answers to many frequently asked questions about all our games. The support site is updated regularly, and it also allows players to leave feedback on specific subjects.

The monthly discussion topic feature by Blizzard continues! Last month's discussion, the Protoss Mothership, was very successful and lasted even until the last day of September (reaching about 200 posts in BlizzForums and StarCraft Legacy combined). Thanks to everyone that participated in that discussion - we are currently in the process of aggregating our data to send to Blizzard.

This month the fan site community is pleased to present the Battle.net features topic for your discussion. Be heard! What do you want to see in the next version of Battle.net? What features are most important to you? You can post your suggestions/comments in either the Battle.net thread or in our official BlizzForum's thread (where it will receive constructive criticism and individual attention).

September 22nd was StarCraft: Ghost 5th anniversary. MedievalDragon of BlizzPlanet has dedicated a page to this occasion and to the memorial of Nova. The page includes words by Chris Metzen which appear in the first pages of the Nova novel by Keith R.A. DeCandido, clues for the return of the game by Blizzard and a video showing a memorial pillar for Nova inside World of Warcraft.

As you can see, our SCV is still having some troubles. Think you can pilot it better than us? HA! No one can beat our micro!

scv2.jpg

Er...

Anyway... Send us any StarCraft related news you encounter: news, comics, videos, new features on your fan site - share it with us!

Nothing too new in the Art field, as Blizzard updated their official site with Art we already familiar with. Nevertheless, we do have something to show you:
TerraliskTiny.jpg

The Terralisk. You might remember this Zerg unit idea from our first Weekly issue. It was later drawn by the skillful Equiliari. You can check this beast in a a full-size piece (2476×1228) on his DeviantArt page.

Blizzard has also updated their Fan Art Gallery. While it mostly includes WoW related art, there are two StarCraft submissions.

headerzerg.jpg
On the last issue we introduced the Zerg Rush - a contest featured in each Weekly. Since the last rush wasn't solved, there it is once again:

My name originates from the song,
and in your eyes I may seem to be long.
On BlizzCon it was known,
that I'll continue to lead them on.
Who the hell am I?!

Nope, it's not Raynor as most of you thought. Someone even thought the answer is "I am Murloc" O_o... We treat you with a little clue:

Try reading me backwards... (damnit! it's friggin' easy!)

Send your answers to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . The winner will have his name posted in the next issue, along with fortune, glory and women for all his desires!

We hope you've enjoyed the 3rd installment of the epic saga called the Legacy Weekly. Stay tuned for next Wednesday as we'll return with even more StarCraft news.

Until the next time...

DauntnBoo03.jpg

Yep. The Legacy Weekly is back for another week! This time the Weekly has a new design which will be improved even further in the coming weeks.

We've received lots of great feedback from you after publishing the first issue of the Weekly last week. Here is one of the warm w00ts we would like to share with you:

You said in your column to e-mail For any suggestions, ideas, or a w00t, so here's a very big w00t. There's a lot of stuff in there I wouldn't have been able to find otherwise, thanks to work, school and chore [ ... ] Thanks again for the article and links. StarCraft Legacy always seems to be coming up with ways to be the best StarCraft news site (sometimes you even beat Blizzard on certain points...).

Anyway, enough chit-chat - The Weekly Begins!

Features on StarCraft2.com

Last week's update on www.StarCraft2.com was the Protoss Mothership. Who would've thought that the next unit update would actually be LARGER than the Thor?
Here's the introduction to the Mothership's story:

Protoss motherships are mighty vessels that were constructed centuries ago during the golden age of Protoss expansion. They were intended to act as primary command ships to lead vast armadas of Protoss explorers into the darkness of deep space and bring them safely home again. Those days are long gone, and the surviving motherships later became holy shrines to the Protoss, representing an honored way of life and a part of the proud history of the Protoss race.

Since the Mothership is this month's discussion topic, many thought this was an odd timing. Why didn't Blizzard wait until they've changed the Mothership according to this month's feedback? Probably so we could get some insight to how the Mothership is now.
And what is the Mothership like now? These are the changes after the WWI:

  • Not restricted to one per player.
  • Cloaking Field added - Requires activation - Unable to move while activated - Cloaks units and buildings(!).
  • Black Hole removed.
  • Time Bomb affects a smaller area.

Want that Black Hle back? Be sure to give your opinion in our

Blizzard Talks!
This week's HOT news was the return of the Terran Firebat! That's right guys and girls, the Firebat is back to make a nice little barbeque out of those leaping Zerglings… And we know this thanks to the Q&A given to us by Karune. This week's Q&A was unique, as the questions answered were asked by various StarCraft fan sites and were not gathered from the Battle.net forums. And guess what – StarCraft Legacy is there!

Here are some tidbits from the Q&A:

Can we expect units to replace the Reaver and the Soul Hunter? (starcraftzone.com)
KaruneYes, we are always testing the addition of new units as well as the removal of older units. For instance, in our current build, the Terran Firebat is back in the game, as we test how he interacts with the new additions into StarCraft II. Of course, nothing is final though.
What was the reasoning behind axing spell X (lockdown, mind control etc)? (sclegacy.com) - Yeah! That's us
As mentioned above in question 2, much like with units, we are also testing several new abilities for StarCraft II. If these abilities do not work as we would intend, it is always possible for a reintroduction of original abilities from the original StarCraft. We are constantly striving to improve and complement what has already been very successful with StarCraft for StarCraft II.

Mike Morhaime Interview - Ghost?

GameSpot conducted a long interview with Blizzard's CEO, Mike Morhaime, during the Austin's Game Developer Conference (AGDC) this week. Morhaime spoke about Blizzard, the WarCraft movie and… StarCraft: Ghost:

GameSpot: What happened with StarCraft: Ghost?

Morhaime: We were late to market with a game that was not shaping up to be competitive to some of the other top games that were coming out. We looked at it and realized that there was an awful lot of work we needed to do. Our window was closing on the older generation platforms, so we had to make a decision whether we would basically take what we'd done onto the next generation of hardware and start from scratch. Ideally, we wanted to release Ghost on the older generation and have our sequel come out on next-gen systems. And then we looked at all the resource needs we had on the PC side of the business with World of WarCraft and our other titles, and we just decided that the resources were spent better on focusing our efforts on our PC titles, so we put Ghost on indefinite hold.

GameSpot: Is cracking back into the console market still on the company's list of objectives?

Morhaime: It is not.

GameSpot: Why was the console market worth getting into in the last generation, but now you're backing away from it?

Morhaime: We thought we would be able to do it without impacting our PC teams. We just had to make a priority call when it became clear that we were getting late to the market with these things and we were not creating something that would live up to the Blizzard quality I've been talking about without additional resources. Now it's pretty clear that we really could use those resources helping us out on World of WarCraft and other things. Ideally, you try to do everything, but one of my points this morning was about not trying to do everything at the same time and focusing on what's important. And that's what we did.

Read the Entire Interview...

Some people, like MedievalDragon of BlizzPlanet, think that Morhaime words might imply on a PC version for StarCraft: Ghost. Here is what he had to say:

On with the StarCraft: Ghost discussion, based on Morhaime's answers and Rob Pardo's comments during the Hollywood & Games Summit back on May that StarCraft: Ghost could be brought to the table at some point ... it makes you wonder if StarCraft: Ghost will make a return on the PC exclusively. That's speculation. Judge for yourself.

Shadow Hunters Details

The description for the second book in the Dark Templar Saga by author Christie Golden, Shadow Hunters, was released by publisherSimon & Schuster during the week. Take a look:

An original tale of space warfare based on the bestselling computer game series from Blizzard Entertainment.

Driven by the living memories of a long-dead Protoss mystic and hounded by the Queen of Blades' ravenous Zerg, archaeologist Jake Ramsey embarks on a perilous journey to reach the fabled Protoss homeworld of Aiur.

Seeking a vital piece of Protoss technology, Jake finds that Aiur has been overrun by the Zerg. Descending into the shadowy labyrinths beneath the planet's surface, he must find the sacred crystal before time runs out -- for him...and the universe itself.

Yet, what Jake discovers beneath Aiur is a horror beyond his wildest nightmares -- Ulrezaj -- an archon comprised of the seven most deadly and powerful dark templar in history....

Why is Kerrigan chasing Ramsey? What is that vital Protoss technology? And what the hell ULREZAJ is doing on Aiur?! For those of you who don't know who he is, we explain: Ulrezaj was a renegade Dark Templar villain in the bonus campaign, Enslavers II: Dark Vengeance, which Blizzard has released to Brood War many years ago. At the end of the campaign, Ulrezaj merged with a few more Dark Templars to create a mad Dark Archon. Although Ulrezaj plans were compromised, the Archon was never found.

The appearance of Ulrezaj in Shadow Hunters is a probable proof that the Enslavers campaigns are canon Ever since the release of StarCraft, lore fans have been arguing whether these are canon. Seems like they got an answer&

One last thing regarding the subject: Simon & Schuster also published this week some information about the 3rd book in the series: It'll be called Twilight and should be released on August 28th, 2008.

SCV Community Scouting

This week our SCV, piloted by our forum member, Carsickness, has brought some fun stuff from across the web:
  • Lego Viking - Someone made a complete dynamic Viking model from Lego pieces. Transform and Roll out (but care not to drop it on the floor)& Check it here (Originally posted on StarCraft Live).
  • Korean Go Wild! - A YouTube movie including a funny Korean guy and lots of StarCraft voices. Hilarious!

ArtCraft

There was no new official art this week. Instead, we are introducing some fan made Zerg art posted in our forums:You also might want to check out the Blizzard Fan Art section, as it received an update this week.

Other Blizzard News

Enough StarCraft! There are other Blizzard
reported that he had received information about Blizzard's projects: Medusa (which is StarCraft II) and Hydra (has also been called as …Something really awesome by Blizzard). Many within the community speculated (and keep speculating) Hydra is a codename for a Diablo sequel.

This week, Hydra made it to the headlines again. The Inquirer was stalking some Blizzard employees during AGDC and overheard the following:

Blizzard Employee 1: What are you working on?

Blizzard Employee 2: Starcraft II, and you?

Blizzard Employee 1: I am working on Hydra.

What is it Blizzard?! WHAT IS IT?! *hype fever*

Contest - The Weekly Zerg Rush

We're glad to introduce The Weekly Zerg Rush. The Rush is a weekly contest where you can win fame, glory, and your name posted on the next issue! Each week we will present a task for you to accomplish. This issue's Rush is a StarCraft themed riddle:

My name originates from the song,
and in your eyes I may seem to be long.
On BlizzCon it was known,
that I'll continue to lead them on.
Who the hell am I?!

Please send your answer to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Good luck!

Conclusion

Thank you for reading the 2nd issue of the Legacy Weekly. Next week we'll return again to give you updates on everything that is StarCraft and beyond!

Until the next week…

Greetings fellow Blizzfans! Today we introduce an entirely new feature here on StarCraft Legacy. Behold the beginning of a new era, the era of..., Ahem... Ok we'll make this quick:

This is the Legacy Weekly. This is a blog-ish feature which we will be releasing once a week on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. It'll summarize all the passing week's news. We'll cover big and small updates alike and discuss some important topics each week. These includes interesting articles, BlizzForums' threads, official and fan artwork, anything else which is StarCraft and Blizzard related, and of course - StarCraft II news will be featured.

For any suggestions, ideas, or a "w00t" send us a mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Wish us good luck as we venture for the first time to the world of the Legacy Weekly! Here we go…

Pimpest Plays 2006

"Hell, it's seriously about time!"

This week we brought up everyone's favorite SC:L feature - Pimpest Plays. Yes, a bit late, but the result is damn awesome. Here is what our beloved LoA had to say on PP06':
I'll be the first to say that this feature took too long and the last to say that we ever gave up. It's been a time consuming and difficult road, but we have finally reached the end. Pimpest Plays 2006 is live. Even in 2006, 8 years after the release of StarCraft and StarCraft Brood War, the game's players and play have continued to evolve. The art of StarCraft is still practiced by people whose huge passion for the game is only surpassed by their skill and innovation. There were hundreds of submissions from the community. Some were great - others weren't. We invited many consultants and some answered the call - others did not. We have attempted to take from hundreds - the very best of StarCraft 2006.

To Pimpest Play 06' check out this link.

Q&A's by Karune and Cavez (oh! It rhymes!)

For those who don't know, Karune is the StarCraft II Community Manager, while Cavez (aka Dustin Browder) is StarCraft II's Lead Designer. Straight from the top! The usual Q&A is here - the whooping 11th in the series. Here's a couple interesting questions answered:
Karune AvatarWill StarCraft II Heroes have unique abilities?

Heroes will have unique abilities different from regular unit abilities. Heroes will be playable only for single player and will not be a part of the multiplayer skirmish experience.

Will a submerged Supply Depot still be able to be attacked? Will it have more hit points while submerged?

Yes, the submerged Supply Depot will still be able to be attacked, and no it will not have more hit points. The ability to submerge a Supply Depot is designed to allow units to move over them strategically. Players will not only be able to keep enemies out, allow friendly units to pass through, but they are also powerful roadblocks in separating incoming armies in 2.
StarCraft II Q&A - Batch 11 | StarCraft II Q&A - Karune Briefings Archive

Karune also had this follow-up on the Supply Depot.
Karune AvatarUnits on top of the Supply Depot get pushed to the side they are closest to.

Also it is important to note that not all information told in interviews or answered on site is not known to everyone, so for some of the more active members, questions may have seem repetitive.

Q&As were never meant to be weekly, but they have been so far, and we try out best to continue it. This is the same with having 5 questions per batch.

Keep the questions coming and we'll do our best to get them answered.
Karune (is this becoming repetitive?) also had some news regarding the upcoming official Terran Gameplay Movie.
Karune AvatarThe StarCraft II Terran Gameplay video will be available on the official site, but we are still polishing the video.

The video that was seen at BlizzCon was designed to be presented hand and hand with Dustin narrating and not as a standalone download.

These modifications to the video should not take too long.
The full post. Popcorn, check! Soda, check! Comfortable chair, check! Repeat function on video player, check! Towel to wipe the drool, check! Now all we need is that damn HD version of that gameplay video!

Cavez answers on demand. A member of the StarCraft II forums on Battle.net had a few questions about the Terran Reaper. Here are the answers:
Cavez Avatar1) Reapers can enter bunkers.

2) Reapers cannot throw their bombs from inside a bunker.

3) Reaper explosives damage everybody, including poorly controlled Reapers that are ordered to move close to their own explosives. The life of a Reaper is dangerous
Click for Browder's post.

We like #3, it calls for some fun... uhm... team play!

Another poster had a question about Protoss Buildings and Warp-In. Browder thinks he is the man for the job:
Cavez AvatarQ: Since the Protoss warp in their buildings, then would it be possible for them to be able to warp their buildings to anywhere under pylon power for say, like 25 minerals and like a ten second warp time while they're warping? If you think about it, it makes sense, since its less distance. Also, that way you can arrange your base so its more efficient if you mess something up. (Or start with something you don't like how it is.)

A: It does make sense and we have talked about this one quite a lot. Ultimately we discarded it because we felt like it would take away from the Terrans, as moving Terran buildings around is pretty core to Terran mechanics.
Click here to see this thread.

Lastly, Browder was impressed by a poster's ideas and bluntly responded:
Cavez Avatar Nice list. Well written. Thanks a ton.

The post.

Well, that was all from the Battle.net forums last week. As a teaser, we know for a fact that next week will have an even better Q&A… Stay tuned for the weekend!

StarCraft II at Leipzig (GC 2007)

The Leipzig Game Convention (August 23rd-26th) has passed. Although StarCraft II was presented at the convention, it was just another "E3." (Remember the disappointment after that day? Bleh!). Nevertheless, Sam Didier (aka Samwise: Blizzard Senior Art Director, Lead Artist on StarCraft II, and the voice behind Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain), gave two interesting interviews at the convention. He talked about unit design and balance, the Zerg, as well as the game's story. You can check both of them out here:

Gamona.de's Interview| GGL's Interview

GC also resulted in two impressions articles on MeetYourMakers: Community Impressions and Moon's Impressions.

And if we're into conventions, you can now watch high-resolution from BlizzCon through GigaTV! The good news - It's great in case you've missed the StarCraft tournament with Tasteless' awesome broadcasting. The bad news - You must have a GigaTV account which costs 2 Euros/month (*mumble*damn capitalists*mumble*).

Blizzard's Monthly Topics

Blizzard wants to listen! The first big step in this direction is the Monthly Discussion series::

mothership

You have a chance to be heard! We won't explain this further, as LordofAscension has already done this at BlizzForums. Here's a part of the explanation:
As many of you know the first every Blizzard RTS Summit took place over BlizzCon. One of our resolutions as a community was to begin discussions on various topics. The sites have chosen the Mothership as the first topic. If you have an idea for the next discussion topic please feel free to PM me.

When/if - you respond to this thread please remember that we're looking for a HIGH QUALITY discussion. Any spam/flaming/or useless one word/phrase posts will be deleted and a warning issued. Blizzard will be monitoring this thread and at the end of the month I'll be reporting back with our community's consensus/ideas/concerns.
Read up on this; make yourself heard. Otherwise, if StarCraft II doesn't turn out the way you wanted, then... Well, we always have the original!

Thor on StarCraft2.com
What walks on two legs, is big as your house and kicks major ass? The only truly BIG news on StarCraft2.com the past week was the addition of the Thor to the ranks of the Terran. Its story is told through the eyes of the Umojan intelligence:
The Thor project has been shrouded in mystery since its very beginning. Agents of the Umojan Protectorate were the first to uncover a trail of clues that the Terran Dominion was intent on creating some kind of new terror weapon. The Umojans' curiosity was aroused when they heard rumors that the huge Simonson munitions facility on Korhal IV had been placed under a complete security lockdown by Dominion forces. Something big was in the offing, so big that the workers at the Simonson plant had been virtually placed under arrest to prevent any information from leaking out…
Bam Bam! Take that stupid rednecks! Err... yeah... To read more about the Thor follow this link. Remember to check out the new screenshots and artwork. And for those of you who are lazy :)…

Moderator's Choice

Two weeks ago, we opened the Moderator's Choice sub-forum on BlizzForums. Armed with the knowledge that Blizzard is browsing forums for feedback, the choice forum was created to showcase our discussions. This is an excellent opportunity for all of our StarCraft posters to be heard! Offer your suggestions, so that StarCraft II can be the best game it can possibly be!

This week we added two new interesting topics on the Moderator's Choice for you to check out:

SCV Community Scouting

We sent our SCV to scout around the StarCraft community, but unfortunately we play like n00bs and the little worker died to a Zergling rush. His sacrifice is not in vain as we managed to salvage one fun thing:

Starcraftlive.net's Exclusive Interview with the Soul Hunter - The StarCraft Live team has made a funny fictional interview with the unit we all love to hate - The Soul Hunter.

Expect more community spotlights as we learn to micro our SCV…

ArtCraft

This passing week was great for these among you who are interested in StarCraft art, as new art pieces aroused some very interesting discussions:
  • Blizzard included various art pieces with the Thor update on the official StarCraft II's website. One of these show a big structure covered in runes and what seems to be Protoss figures, with Zeratul standing at its entrance. We could already see this entrance in another artwork. According to the speculations, these artworks (along with others showing Zeratul traveling inside the interiors of an unknown structure), are concept art for a cinametic trailer that will be in the game. One of our forum members, Carsickness, gathered all these concepts and made a theory about "The Path of Zeratul" in this thread.
  • Just before the Thor update, Blizzard messed up with their StarCraft II art section a bit, by replacing a concept art of Kerrigan with the artwork of the Hydralisk you can see on the left (and also here). WTF? Why was it removed? When that Kerrigan artwork was released originally, the community speculated that might be a concept of a de-infested Kerrigan (as she lacks her armored carapace). Was Blizzard trying to correct a remove a possible accidental spoiler, or was it just a mistake by the webmaster? Dam dam dam!
  • SonsOfTheStorm.com, Blizzard's artists website, has been also updated this week with new StarCraft artwork. Among these you can find a Zealot, Reapers and a early Siege Tank concept by Samwise, and the cover art for the upcoming book in the Dark Templar Trilogy, Shadow Hunters, Raneman.

Conclusion

That's the end of our first Weekly. Yet before we finish we have updates on our awaited articles and Archive's unit database. We know you've all been waiting for them since BlizzCon, but because of our server move and the work on Pimpest Plays we have had to delay their release. September marks a new beginning with PP06', the Legacy Weekly and many more other secret features *wink*. Until they are released, you can check out our Memorial Pillar at the StarCraft II Archive.Next week we'll return again with more news, a discussion panel and a contest. Thanks for reading our first Legacy Weekly!

Until the next time…

StarCraft

As a teaser, we know for a fact that next week will have an even better Q&A& Stay tuned for the weekend!

You ca

Something big was in the offing, so big that the workers at the Simonson plant had been virtually placed under arrest to prevent any information from leaking out&

Bam Bam! Take that stupid rednecks! Err... yeah... To read more about the Thor follow this link. Remember to check out the new screenshots and artwork. And for those of you who are lazy :)&

Expect more community spotlights as we learn to micro our SCV&
